A 55 minute drive from the performance space. A beautiful & famous house, and worthy of consideration as the best backdrop for a photo session I have ever played. As I got in the van to set off for the sound check, Laurie told me that the BTV filming had not been resolved. Not the best time to have to consider pulling a show, driving to the show, when none of the audience can be notified & the equipment is onstage. So, a telephone conversation with Richard, linking him in turn with BTV in Seattle.
Upon the group & Laurie's joint return to Hotel It Is Being Built While You Are In It, each of our rooms had waiting a bottle of bubbling solution on ice. So, we held a group meeting in Adrian's room with bubblingnesses eruptile, and covered important overall issues, developments & future lookings. Laurie has a very good practical take on many of our concerns.
Then, for me, a telephone call at 02.30 with Steve Ball & David Singleton at BTV in Seattle, to address the filming of the Paris show. When the European venues were booked, my concern for BTV was not taken seriously enough to build into the arrangements. So, we'll accept the arrangements as we have them for this tour, but in future the KC / BTV partnership will be built into the deal.

Hotel Acceptable Contemporary Designer Minimalist, Milan.
An almost sleepless night.
Trey suggested that the aim of the champagne was so we wouldn't hear the hammering of the construction work beginning at 08.30. I have no doubt that the hotel will get better; I have an equal certainty that I will never know just how much better.
Band discussions in van on the way to Milan: including an assessment of the European tour; electronica & its implications for this Crim; moving forwards generally, and this autumn specifically.
